From it ‘s humble beginnings back in 1993 as an idea between musically minded mates to “do it themselves” Lock & Load has grown into a premier crewing service; offering casual labour to the Sporting, Corporate and Entertainment Industries.
We offer general loaders and technically skilled staff for all your events – from truck loaders, local community events, set and staging assistance for film and television to large scale site set up and pack downs, audio and lighting technicians, show call and touring crews.

Robert (Lofty) Lofven has been involved in the Australian Music Industry for over 20 years in all aspects of hands - on event production including: Safety Officer, Site, Staging and Production Management, FOH, Backline Tech, Senior crew supervision, Administration and Company organisation. Lofty was a cofounder of Lock & Load way back and his hard work and dedication has brought the company forward to the professional service it offers today.
Trish Shoesmith – Operations Manager
With 20 years + experience in the events and entertainment industries, Trish was both manager and booking agent for numerous live venues across Melbourne.

With more than 17 years of experience in the events and entertainment industries in Germany and Australia, Christian joined Lock & Load in 2007 as a casual employee. Within a year, as a result of his commitment and passion for the job, he worked his way up to a senior crew boss position. In late 2008 Christian was sponsored by Lock & Load and is now working full-time for the company.
